O que é um software CMMS e um software EAM ?

Um pacote de software CMMS mantém um banco de dados de informações sobre as operações de manutenção de uma empresa, isto é : “sistema computarizado de gerenciamento de manutenção”.
Estas informações se destinam a apoiar os trabalhadores de manutenção a executarem suas tarefas mais eficazmente (por exemplo, determinando quais equipamentos requerem manutenção e quais armazens possuem as peças necessárias) e apoiar a gerência na tomada de decisão com base em fatos (por exemplo, calculando o custo de reparo em emergência do equipamento versus a realização de manutenções preventivas para cada máquina possivelmente levando a uma melhor alocação dos recursos). Os dados de um CMMS também podem ser usados para assegurar que os padrões de uma ISO 9000, por exemplo estão sendo cumpridos.
